Donald Trump (born June 14, 1946) is the 45th and current president of the United States. Before involving politics, he was a well known businessman and was a real estate mogul and an old reality TV star.
Trump became involved in large, lucrative building projects in Manhattan. In 1980, he founded the Grand Hyatt New York, which made him the city’s well-known developer.
In 2004, Trump began starring in the hit NBC reality series The Apprentice. Then Trump turned his attention to politics, and in 2015 he announced his nomination for president of the United States on the Republican ticket.
After conquering a majority of the primariy elections and caucuses, Trump became the official Republican candidate for president on July 19, 2016. That November, Trump was elected the 45th President of the US after disappointing Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.
